Product Overview
Duplex 2205 studs are high-strength, corrosion-resistant fasteners manufactured from UNS S32205/S31803 duplex stainless steel bar stock conforming to ASTM A276 and ASTM A479. The duplex microstructure, with approximately equal proportions of austenite and ferrite, provides a unique combination of high yield strength (twice that of 316L) and exceptional resistance to chloride-induced pitting, crevice, and stress corrosion cracking.
Duplex 2205 studs are widely specified for flange connections, pressure vessel closures, and structural joints in aggressive environments such as offshore, chemical processing, and desalination plants. They are compliant with NACE MR0175/ISO 15156 for sour service and are a cost-effective alternative to super austenitic and nickel alloy fasteners in many applications.
