| Property | Titanium Gr.5 | SS 316L | Duplex 2205 |
|---|---|---|---|
| Density | 4.43 g/cm3 | 7.98 g/cm3 | 7.82 g/cm3 |
| Seawater resistance | Excellent (immune) | Moderate | Good |
| Tensile strength (min) | 896 MPa | 485 MPa | 620 MPa |
| Strength-to-weight ratio | Highest | Medium | Medium |
| Relative cost | Very High | Medium | Medium-High |
| NACE MR0175 compliant | Yes | Conditional | Yes |
Verdict: Titanium Grade 5 is the choice for maximum strength-to-weight and full seawater immunity. Duplex 2205 offers better cost-to-strength for structural offshore. SS 316L is adequate for mild corrosion where weight is not critical.
