Product Overview

What are Incoloy 925 Studs?

Incoloy 925 studs are high-strength nickel-iron-chromium alloy fasteners manufactured from UNS N09925 bar stock in accordance with ASTM B805. This precipitation-hardenable alloy is engineered for exceptional resistance to stress corrosion cracking, pitting, and crevice corrosion in aggressive chloride and sour (H2S) environments. The addition of molybdenum, copper, and titanium provides a unique combination of mechanical strength and corrosion resistance, making Incoloy 925 studs the preferred choice for critical bolted joints in oil & gas, marine, and chemical processing applications.

Incoloy 925 studs are NACE MR0175/ISO 15156 compliant for sour service and are widely specified for subsea wellhead, downhole, and topside equipment where both high strength and resistance to sulfide stress cracking are mandatory.

Material Chemistry

Incoloy 925 Chemical Composition

Incoloy 925 Studs are produced from an iron-nickel-chromium alloy with controlled nickel (30–46%), chromium (19–23%), and molybdenum content per ASTM. Nickel and chromium together resist high-temperature oxidation to 1093°C in 800H grades, while molybdenum and copper additions in Incoloy 825 provide sulfuric and phosphoric acid resistance.

Chemical Composition per ASTM B805

Why Incoloy 925 Alloy Composition Matters for Studs

Ni-Cr-Fe Matrix — Sour Service Resistance
The balanced nickel-chromium-iron matrix of Incoloy 925 provides outstanding resistance to sulfide stress cracking and chloride-induced corrosion, making it ideal for sour gas and seawater-exposed bolted joints.
Mo & Cu — Pitting & Acid Resistance
Molybdenum and copper additions enhance resistance to pitting, crevice corrosion, and attack by reducing acids, ensuring long-term integrity of stud bolts in aggressive chemical and marine environments.
Ti — Precipitation Hardening
Titanium enables precipitation hardening, delivering high tensile and yield strength without compromising ductility or corrosion resistance, critical for high-load flange and pressure vessel connections.
