Product Overview

What are Nimonic 263 Screws?

Nimonic 263 screws are high-strength, nickel-cobalt-chromium-molybdenum alloy fasteners manufactured from UNS N07263 bar stock conforming to ASTM B637. Designed for service up to 800°C, these screws offer a unique combination of age-hardened strength and excellent oxidation and thermal fatigue resistance. The alloy’s controlled additions of titanium and aluminum enable precipitation hardening, while molybdenum and cobalt enhance creep and stress rupture properties.

Nimonic 263 screws are widely specified in gas turbine engines, petrochemical reactors, and high-temperature pressure vessels where both mechanical reliability and corrosion resistance are critical. All fasteners are supplied with full traceability and EN 10204 3.1 certification.

Material Chemistry

Nimonic 263 Chemical Composition

Nimonic 263 Screws are manufactured from a precipitation-hardened nickel-chromium-cobalt superalloy with titanium and aluminium additions per AMS and BS HR specifications. These elements form the gamma-prime (Ni₃Al,Ti) precipitate phase that delivers creep rupture strength above 700°C — a performance level unachievable with standard nickel or stainless alloys.

Why Nimonic 263 Alloy Composition Matters for Screws

Co & Cr (19–21%) — Oxidation & Hot Corrosion Resistance
Cobalt and chromium provide Nimonic 263 screws with outstanding resistance to oxidation and hot corrosion at temperatures up to 800°C, making them ideal for gas turbine and exhaust applications.
Mo (5.6–6.1%) — Creep Strength
Molybdenum enhances the alloy’s creep and stress rupture properties, ensuring screw integrity under sustained high loads and thermal cycling.
Ti & Al — Precipitation Hardening
Titanium and aluminum enable age-hardening, delivering high tensile and yield strength after heat treatment, while maintaining ductility for reliable assembly and service.
